German PhD Student
Carly Lesoski is a PhD Candidate in German Studies at Michigan State University. Her dissertation focuses on students’ identity and investment during a telecollaboration project in an upper-level German course. Much of her research interests lie in the area of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), but she is also interested in depictions of women, women’s bodies, and refugee experiences in German comics and graphic novels. Carly has taught 1st-year German and assisted in a 4th-year German course, and she earned the Certification in College Foreign Language Teaching in spring of 2016. In addition, she has taught German for Kids and German for Teens classes and summer camps at the Center for Language Teaching Advancement (CeLTA) at MSU. She has also served as the graduate representative in the German Program, as well as in the College of Arts and Letters College Curriculum Committee. When she isn’t teaching or writing, she can be found playing with her son, spending time with her husband, going to the zoo, and tweeting her life away.
